Don't Be a Headcase Check for Concussion

We all love playing rugby, it's a great sport but it is a contact sport. Despite the best efforts of coaches, officials and players, occasionally we do get injuries.

Head injuries if not identified can be very serious so it is important that we can all recognise the signs. As part of out development all coaches and match officials have to complete an approved Concussion Awareness course called Headcase.

The RFU’s HEADCASE programme aims to increase understanding and provide information on concussion and other related topics, including how to prevent and manage suspected concussions. It is recognised as one of the UK’s leading concussion awareness and education resources.

The RFU have also opened this training up for anyone to take.
We would like all of our parents to spare some time over the next week or so to log on to the website and do the training. It help you to spot signs of concussion which can manifest themselves hours after the match has finished.
