Sunderland 2s big win at Percy Park

The 2s continued their good run of form with a 48-12 win over Percy Park 3s.

There was only a small number of changes to the named team, allowing to us to play in a consistent manner.

Our pack were overwhelmingly on top for most of the game although our passing once the gain line had been broken left a lot to be desired.

Despite this we scored routinely throughout the game predominantly via forward play.

Percy Park tackled bravely and scored two long range breakaway tries.

Highlights:

Tries for colts Aaron (No.8) and Anth (2nd row). 4 conversions for our other colt Dan (Wing / Scrum Half)

Super try from Swanny running thru / around 5-6 players

Heff's kicking (except for kick offs)

Now standard criticism of coach for failing to follow game plan (despite scoring twice,!!)

Back-chat to ref:

Against Rovers earlier this season Mr 'Red Mist' Marshall was asked to have a break by the ref for 'consistent rucking with forehead'. Deano took umbridge with this and argued that nowhere in 'the rules' did it say you can't ruck with your forehead which I thought was pushing it to say the least.

However yesterday even Deano had to tell our players to pack in chipping away at the ref at times. We reined it in but a different ref
cud have made life difficult for us. A minor issue but get it sorted for next week!
