As ever thanks to everyone who turned up and contributed. In a 57-12 win everyone contributes positively but i can't unfortunately always reflect this in a short report.
The team was ably captained by Mr Brace who, for me, has been way too good for the past two teams we've played.
We had a good number of Colts (5) and guys in the 20-30 bracket (7-8 if I'm any judge)
A word of praise for our 50 something who maintains his place on form alone well done Mr Marshall.
Chester le Street battled away and made a number of good line breaks throughout the match. However i just felt our play was better structured and we generally had too much pace across the side and this was reflected in the score.
Highlights included:
A stunning score from Colts full back Gabe Fearon.
Differing but effective midfield performances from Cowans and Harford were good to see.
Competition in the 2nd and back rows is hotting up!
A couple (i think) tries from Henry Mcnally need to be built on with more game time in the 2nd XV
Finally a towering man of the match performance from Ki Hanlon, well done. Ki looked a bit too good to be playing second team today.
Other highlights included:
Asgeir Nielson playing for Chester le Street. Remember him?
Our temp fly half knocking the ball on after it hit his nose before he caught it.
Finally the referee turning up 25 mins late, playing 50 mins for the 1st half, losing his watch in the 2nd half then playing only 35 mins for the second half.
He was never wrong though!
