Missing five regulars, the lads almost scored in the first minute through a speculative kick, but lacked the intensity and 1 v 1 tackling to keep Rockcliff at bay for too long. Vincent Hessel scored a hat-trick, through two kick chases and a forward drive in the last minute. Zach Tivnen added a fourth and Adam Williams a fifth - two converted by Hessel. Rockcliff moved the ball at pace and scored a quick fire three after half time. Without a front row, uncontested scrums worked in the visitor's favour. At the end, 15 Dino and 14 Thomas found themselves in the pack, following injuries to James Docherty and Jack Howell, with Sunderland claiming the final score.
