Sunderland U16s came from behind to register an emphatic second half win over Horden and Peterlee at Ashbrooke. The visitors opened the scoring with a converted try after intercepting a loose pas from the kick off. Sunderland fought back into it
within a matter of minutes, number 8 Adam Williams crashing over following a series of rucks, Chris Rochelle converting. With Sunderland dominant in the scrum, centre Vincent Hessell crashed over for a second try, unconverted, before Horden touched down in the corner just before half time. Centre Ethan Marrs' second half hat-trick, running the ball at will in open play, proved the difference, with captain Josh Jobling side stepping through Horden's defence to run under the sticks, Rochelle converting. Winger Dinoshan Ratnesawarn put in a MOM perfromance with a string of try saving tackles. Horden finished the game with a powerful drive to score under the posts, converted.
